Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a non-invasive treatment. It combines the rejuvenating effect of microneedling with radiofrequency energy. The procedure encourages collagen production. It helps to smooth out fine lines, firm up the skin and fade hyperpigmentation and scars.

The microneedles penetrate the skin to create a controlled injury that generates the renewal of cells. The RF microneedling treatment is suitable for all skin tones. It has the best results on patients with some skin laxity and sun damage. One treatment session lasts 30-45 minutes. Professionals recommend having three to four treatments for optimum results.

Before the treatment, patients can request a topical numbing cream as the pricking of the needles on the skin might be uncomfortable. During the procedure, there should be minimal pain and just a warm sensation. The treatment requires no downtime. Patients may experience some bleeding and redness that will calm down within two days. Doctors advise using medical-grade skin care products and sunscreen with an SPF of 30 to maintain the results.

There are various microneedling devices on the market, such as Vivace, Morpheus8, Potenza, Infini RF, Fractora RF, and Secret RF. They generally work the same way but care should be taken to ensure that a competent and experienced doctor performs the treatment that is important as improper methods could cause further scarring.

The Genius RF Microneedling treatment is one of the many devices used on the face, neck, and chest. It has ultrafine needles that reduce wrinkles and smooth out cellulite. The Genius is customizable to each patient's skin resistance. This helps to administer the right level of energy for a safer procedure.

The Morpheus8 produces similar results with the added benefit of reducing fat in the face. Unlike other resurfacing treatments, it is also safe for darker skin tones as it does not cause hyperpigmentation.Morpheus8 can also be personalized as it can be modified to penetrate at different skin depths depending on the skin concern.

Profound RF also works as an anti-aging treatment. It produces Hyaluronic Acid and collagen in the skin for a youthful look. The device is temperature-controlled, which gives more effective results.

The Secret RF works similarly and only takes 20 minutes per session with annual treatments needed to maintain results.

Lastly, Vivace is also able to control the depth and energy levels of the device. It also uses an added red and blue LED light to reduce inflammation, produce collagen and kill bacteria during the treatment.
