KoR is a professional teeth-whitening system that uses a specific peroxide-based gel to eliminate stains and create a whiter smile. Tooth color results from natural pigment and stain molecules. When these molecules accumulate, the teeth will stain even more. The gel used is a hydrogen peroxide derivative which can remove the stains on the teeth.

A typical KoR treatment will require 2-8 weeks of daily at-home therapies. It also includes a whitening session at the clinic, but this depends on the extent of the staining. The KoR treatment is unique as the whitening gel is stored at a controlled cool temperature. This  prevents chemical instability and ensures maximum potency of the product.

Many traditional whitening treatments can only be used for 23-35 minutes. During this time, the saliva in the mouth contaminates the whitening agent, decreasing its potency. Dentists customize the KoR whitening trays according to each patient's mouth. They are custom-fit and specifically designed to lessen saliva contact with the whitening gel. Since the gel does not get diluted, its potency and power can last for 6-10 hours.

The KoR treatment starts with taking a mold of the mouth to create the custom trays. Depending on the severity of the staining, there are four teeth whitening systems to choose from. These systems differ according to the duration of at-home treatments and the need for an in-office session. The KoR Home system is solely done at home and will require two weeks of daily application.

The KoR Max system adds a single in-office appointment to the home system treatment. The KoR Ultra system includes an in-office session before and after the home treatment, which will last 3-4 weeks. Lastly, the KoR Ulta-T system specifically targets tetracycline stains, which are difficult to remove.

These cases will require an in-office session before and after a 6-8 week at-home treatment.
